Service Description
Learn to survive a 72-hour emergency in the New Brunswick wilderness. This hands-on Basic Survival course near Edmundston, NB covers fire craft, shelter building, water collection and other life-saving skills. Basic does not mean easy. It means the essential skills every outdoorsperson needs. Expect to walk 2-4 km carrying your own gear (approx. 10 kg) plus materials you collect off the land. WHO TEACHES IT: SATS founder Steve Matte, a 20-year Canadian Armed Forces veteran, former JTF2 special operations member and former winter survival instructor for 2 Combat Engineer Regiment. HOW WE TEACH: Educate, Demonstrate, Imitate (EDI). The pace is set by the students. GOOD TO KNOW: Minimum 6 students. Primitive camping, walk-in only. Bring your own food. Cancellation Policy
Once you purchase a course from SATS, you have up to 14 days before the course to cancel and receive a refund. This provides us time to open the spot for someone else to purchase. Any cancellations past that threshold will not be eligible for a refund of the deposit. Cancellations due to an emergency will be handled on a case-by-case basis. If you do not show up for a course your registration fees are forfeited and no refunds or store credits will be issued. If a class gets canceled... We require a minimum of 6 students to conduct a course (depending on the course). If a course needs to be canceled due to an insufficient number of registrations, you will be contacted by phone or email. You will then have the option to transfer to another course (if available), receive a store gift card, or a refund. Please note: SATS is not responsible for travel expenses, airline tickets, or other accommodations if a course is canceled.
