Winter Survival builds on your foundation skills for the cold. Learn to dress and move without sweating, build snow and bough shelters, make fire on deep snow, turn snow and ice into safe water, find food in winter, and recognise and treat hypothermia and frostbite. Taught by Steve Matte, former lead winter survival instructor for 2 Combat Engineer Regiment. Online course: $400 CAD. The in-person field course in Edmundston, NB is booked separately at $500 CAD. Level: Intermediate. 7 modules, 8 lessons (approx. 3 hours online plus drills). Prerequisite: Basic Survival recommended. Includes: lessons, field drills, quizzes, narrated slide deck and a downloadable course manual. Instructor: Steve Matte, SATS founder, 20-year Canadian Armed Forces veteran and former JTF2 member.
